Support for Food Service Workers During COVID-19

3/22/2020

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-9, which temporarily closes theaters, bars, and casinos, and limits restaurants to carry-out and delivery orders. We want to thank and support or local restaurants during this time, but acknowledge that many restaurants and restaurant workers are in challenging financial situations.

While all food service businesses are feeling the effects of social distancing, restaurant service workers are now often without any income. The Restaurant Opportunity Center (ROC) United has aggregated relevant resources for Michigan COVID-19 Support for restaurant workers.

The Restaurant Opportunity Center of Michigan, in association with the Allen Neighborhood Center, is helping to provide for emergency needs. They are collecting donations and have a form for restaurant workers in need to connect with their organization.
